Safety and trust
Meeting across borders should feel safe
Hemisphere is not open yet. This page is honest about what we plan to have in place at launch, and gives you the warning signs to know now, on any dating platform.
Planned at launch
What we are building
These are plans, not features you can use today. We will update this page as each one goes live.
Reporting
A Report button on every profile and message, so you can flag anyone who makes you uncomfortable or looks like a scam.
Blocking
Block someone and you will no longer see each other. It takes one tap and they are not told.
Human review of profiles
People, not only software, will look at new profiles and at reports. We will describe exactly what is reviewed once it is running.
Privacy controls
You choose what appears on your profile and who sees it. Your contact details stay private until you decide to share them.
We are still deciding how identity or photo verification will work, and we will not describe profiles as verified until a real process exists.
Know the signs
Romance scam warning signs
Scammers target people on every dating service. These patterns are worth knowing before you start talking to anyone.
They push to leave the platform fast
Moving to a private messaging app within days, and away from any safety tools, is a common first step.
They ask for money, in any form
Emergencies, travel costs, customs fees, medical bills, investments. A genuine match does not need your money.
They cannot or will not video chat
Repeated excuses for avoiding a live video call are a red flag, especially after weeks of messaging.
The story is too perfect or too fast
Declarations of love within days, or a profile that seems too good to be true, deserve a slower pace.
They ask for gift cards, crypto, or wire transfers
These are hard to reverse. Anyone who asks for them is a reason to stop and report.
They ask for private photos or documents
Never send ID, bank details, or intimate images to someone you have not met in person.
